Before his execution Ted Bundy sat down and held an exclusive interview with James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family. In his interview Ted said that violent pornography had played a major role in his sex crimes and murders. According to Ted he was exposed to pornography at an early age and as he grew older he developed an addiction that became insatiable.
By the time Ted reached college, pornography was one of the foremost thoughts in Ted's mind. He conceded to police that he would creep through the University District late at night, stealing things from houses and peeping into women’s windows. Ted’s addiction paired with his peeping tom exploits, led to the development of sadistic fantasies that he kept locked and hidden away within himself, but not for long. Ted admitted that the pornography helped to dehumanize his victims and that women became objects, materials to be possessed, like an article of clothing. Pairing this mentality with Ted’s kleptomania, eventually led him to become as obsessed with “stealing” women as he was with shoplifting.
Some researchers believe Bundy's late insistence upon pornography, as a factor in his crimes, was an attempt at manipulation; a hope of forestalling his execution. However, some researchers and myself included, believe that pornography is the key to understanding Ted's feelings toward women and part of the explanation for his crimes
... how can people find anything BENEFICIAL to pornography???
